execution: build your brand.

Back in November, I spoke about needing to pick, choose and deliver to the best of my ability in this Random Thoughts post. Although this was primarily about work, I'm going to apply this in every area of my life, as I've come to realize that life is an extreme challenge. There will be difficult situations, major obstacles and forks in the road that will distract you from reaching your destination. There will be manipulative people that are envious of your accomplishments or people that will succumb to spreading rumors about you because they don’t have what it takes to reach your level. For every personal goal that I’ve tried to accomplish there was always at least one force [thing or person] trying to get in my way. But I looked beyond that. Granted, not everything I started I finished, but I gave it my best while I was active in it.

Now I am making it my business to finish everything I start. I've decided to aggressively pursue my writing career. I've decided to be a better Editor-In-Chief for Mannequin® Magazine and help bring it to fruition, we've waited forever for this one. One of the last investors who was a bit indecisive finally gave in and invested in what may will be one of the most aesthetically pleasing artistic lifestyle magazines to date. Also, the entertainment lawyer on Mannequin® Magazine is running for councilman of Queens, so that will only give us more backing & exposure. While doing that, I've decided to continue to excel in my current position here at the Insurance company so that I can be even more effective in the position above mine - 'cuz I'm taking that one too. I stand out here much and I want to continue building my brand. I've decided to also take this publisher up on his offer to write a book and still be a part of his team while I'm at it. Now, that alone will be a task in itself. But you don't know your capabilities until you try something. I'll start off small like he suggested. The only way to get where you want to be is to do what needs to be done to get there sans procrastination. It really doesn’t matter how long it takes to reach your goal. I'm not about setting time frames. As long as you have determination and motivation to get you there, you're fine. I already executed a lot of actions with regards to my family, my relationship and my friends, so I'm pretty sufficient in those areas in my life. I really have great people in my circle... not everyone is this blessed.

I know I’m equipped to handle just about anything because I am strong minded, experienced enough, independent, assertive and realistic. So if when I begin my journey of choosing and delivering to the best of my ability, this year will be definitely happiness-filled. Hope yours is too.

P.S. - I'm still poppin' e... refer to this post first, then this one after , if you're unsure of what I'm talking about.
