but i expect the worst, while hoping for the best.

free will.

free and independent choice; voluntary decision.

in a nutshell.

some people argued for ages that free will is non-existent, while others beg to differ. personally, i thought it existed at one point. i did. i was one of those who felt i had free will to do what i wanted, when i wanted. but in light of some recent actions, i've come to realize that something else is controlling my actions. but what ? i want to know what's making me do the diminutive things i say i will no longer do. or i will try to do less of. or change. why isn't it working?

free will. does it really exist ?

and if it does, is it possible that it only exists in certain areas of your life and is absent in others ?

artistry.

art evolves, so does life. art is never stagnant, neither is life.

some people are innate risk takers. while others choose to play it safe. i can admit that playing it safe gives me a sense of security, but risk-taking can be effective, especially if it's a life-changing risk. how would you know if it's life changing ? you won't. that's why you take the risk. risk-taking allows room for growth, in my opinion. i've been doing certain things differently and that has allowed me to realize that i'm a work in progress. and i'm okay with that. whether it be in my career, family, friendships or relationship, i'm constantly changing and growing and risk-taking has helped that process inimitably.

works in progress are never perfect, but changes can be made to the rewrites during rough drafts.

i'm willing to try this out for as long as i can and see where it takes me.

about a week ago, i took my daughter bike riding in prospect park. we laughed. we fell. she cried. ate italian icees. rode on the carousel. fed birds. hung out near the dog beach. it was great. i've been embracing life's simple abundances a lot more lately.

hip hop festival 2009/ehug update.

Ehug is growing quickly. From our staff to our content. Get on it, if you haven't already. As mentioned before, we were asked to be a part of the 5th Annual Hip Hop Festival. We recently met with the directors of the festival and have secured our spot in the annual event. It is being held June 20th, at Empire Fulton Ferry Park in Dumbo, Brooklyn from 12 to 8pm. I loved them as a couple. Really. They were my favorite couple, after Bey and Hov of course.

I'm sure you all know by now that they've filed for divorce. No one knows what happens in a relationship but the two parties involved. I learned that myself.

Everyone knows I love Kelis. Adore her.

Recently, she's been getting shit of her chest via Twitter. Like most other celebs. She tweeted the below in regards to cheating last night:

"This lovely day I would like to touch on cheaters. Super brief! Why be cowardly? Why not go after what you really want? Do people know what they want? Probably not which just goes into know and respecting ones self. Also we can discuss whores I mean the nasty sub par tricks that participate in the cheating. Well let me say this, both parties are gross. And in reality they deserve each other."

"All the scum bag coward husbands and the less then impressive sluts unite! You can all go down in flames together! Hooray! Who’s disgusted and bitter? Not I said the cat!"

"I have no patients for any of it but the problem is women usually blame the women. I am here to say the husband is way more at fault, now of course the woman/women who partake are stupid and pitiful. An honestly I will say its expected from younger girls 23 and under, but after that I do think as women we need to take more responsibility. Men are driven by something different then we are."

Of course these tweets were broken up, as Twitter only allows for 140 characters per tweet. She also spelled patience wrong ... but I still love her. We all make mistakes.
