I think Dorothy Dandridge definitely paved the way for a lot of African American actresses, especially considering she was the first African American to be nominated for an Academy Award.

One of her quotes caught my eye.

"If I were white, I could capture the world."

I can only imagine how hard it was back then ... 'cuz it's still kinda hard today.

I loved that movie about her life when Halle portrayed her.

i enjoyed the movie as well, it was insightful because i wasnt entirely familiar with her life, just her face.
