art craving.

I just took this pic on my Blackberry. Not sure if it's too bright, but it's a pic of one of my tats. A meaningful Latin quote wrapped around my wrist in a very fancy cursive font. I love it. Probably more than my other tat, which is a rosary around my ankle. I'm having a tattoo craving though, especially as of recent. I want a few more. I want some Roman Numerals somewhere [my daughter's birth date] and I want something else. Something bigger - maybe more dramatic - words. Not sure exactly what though. But here's what happens. I have a craving, then I begin diligently searching for ideas. I spend about 6-8 months making sure I want whatever idea I came up with. I go to the parlor. Look around [as if I've never been in that one before] ... see someone getting tatted - freak out [as if I don't have any] and say I'll be back. Two months later I'll go back and bring my idea to fruition.

I need my tattoos to be meaningful. I know several people who get tats out of impulse - I'm good on that. No offense to those who do that, I'm sure it gives you an inexplicable high and it's probably thrilling. But it's also ... ehhh... permanent. Unless of course you decide to have laser surgery, which not many people do. Some rather live with a regret rather than pay for laser surgery. Can't knock 'em.

Is it me or are tattoos [and piercings] addictive? I've already done the 6-8 month portion of this and I've actually visited the parlor, freaked out and left, so you know what's next...

Hi,
I love my tat and sometimes want more but it does mess with you on the job. I love my piercings too. I got my nipples pierced and one rejected years later but still I dig it but remember tats can mess with you on the job.

PS Why Roman numerals and Latin? Why not something that can just be seen and understood? Just asking
Jaycee

you better agree =)

Big Cheekz...
thanks a bunch! come back soon!

Ms. Naomie...
thanks darling. go get that tat! I'm sure you're not as bad as me! I loathe needles! I pass out! =/

Mista Jaycee...
yeah, working in corporate america can be hard having tats. that's why i make sure all mine are discreet, small and ladylike. I wear certain button downs that cover my wrist tat, and my rosary is barely seen except for during the summer obviously.

umm i like to be different. i'm not a fan of random letters and words that anyone can look at and understand. i chose latin because i am catholic {hence the rosary} and the quote is from the bible. since latin was the original catholic language, i liked the idea.
roman numerals i just love. my tattoos are for me.. not really for others. i love when someone comes up to me and says "hey, what does that mean?"

I absolutely love tats but I'm definitely with you...They most have a reason even though I have two non-meaningful tats (basically because I love the design of them). These are permanent features on your body so I do feel they should have been well thought out before deciding on getting INKED UP, LOL....Ms. Naomie, girl just get up one day & hit the parlor!!! I was just like you for about two years & one birthday my BFF & I just got up & went thru it...I know have 3 tats, LOL

oh i completely agree!...tattoos are addictive...i have a total of 5 tattoos..and i got tattoos 3,4,&5 all within 5mos of each other...

yes...i believe too that tattoos should have meaning...for every tattoo i have i have a story....and all my tattoos relate to each other...

i keep my tattooed area regulated to my middle upper back..so i can show it if i want to but cover them when potentially inappropriate..

can't wait to see what you get
